Ian Brennan is a musician, producer, writer etc. He has been producing landmark recordings from around the world: Malawi's Zomba Prison, Cambodia (Khmer Rouge Survivors) and Vietnam - amongst other areas.

In Vietnam, he worked with the few local recording artists to have survived the Vietnam War (or the American War as it is known). Their album: Hanoi Masters present defiant and poignant songs that deal with the conflict’s aftermath, rather than the bombs of the time.

Ian and musicians from the recording will be at WOMADelaide in March. Using traditional Vietnamese instruments and led by Vân-Ánh Võ who regularly performs with the Kronos Quartet, Masters Quôć Hùng and Phạm Mộng Hải reveal not only their talent and immense resilience but also a sense of joy and humour.

Ian Brennan will phone into the Global Village this Sunday to talk about the music, his recordings and other initiatives.
