Wendy Ealey and Moira Tyers are The Dixie Chooks. They have been playing together in various combinations for some years and are very happy to have found one another ...
Moira Tyers is a multi award winning singer/songwriter from West Preston. She plays an eclectic mix of suburban folk music that crosses the folk/country/blues genre and reflects everyday issues both comical and poignant. She is a dab hand at a range of instruments, including guitar, fiddle and piano accordion. Wendy Ealey has been chortling her way around the Melbourne folk scene and various genres and venues national and international for way too long to mention. Her song writing and performing spans solo, choral, classical, instrumental and political as well as playing guitar, mandolin, ukulele and kazoo!
Their more recent shared achievement is the Unsung Heroes of Australian History theme program with Bruce Watson and Neil Robertson.
As the Dixie Chooks duo they are launching their first CD 'Layers' on Sunday 10th April at The Thornbury Theatre.
This Sunday, they will chat and chortle a few songs in the Global Village - some time around or after 6 pm.
