Musicians Ernie Gruner and Phil Carroll met at Boite World Music Café 20 years ago. Their duo, Bohemian Nights, now celebrates 20 years of music on Saturday May 14th, returning to the same venue. Guests will include Ron Hansen (Klezmeritis, double bass ), Rosa Voto (Tarantella dance, vocals), Joseph Sherman (Russian actor/singer from their successful fortyfivedownstairs production Russian Soup) and food from the Budapest Restaurant, where they’ve played monthly for seven years.
Ernie Gruner (violin, mandolin, vocals ) and Phil Carroll (accordion, ney, vocals) play Gypsy, Klezmer, Middle-Eastern, French, Italian, Russian, jazz and tango music which ranges from soulful to wild.
This Sunday, they'll visit the Global Village (5-7 pm) to play some music and talk about their long association.
